“Namaste” from Praveen and Swarna Kumar. (A respectful form of greeting in Indian custom, simply meaning, ‘I bow to you’)
Growing celebrity Chef, Praveen Kumar, and his wife Swarna would like to welcome you to an authentic Indian cuisine experience which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home. We use only the ‘best of British’ fresh food, combined with ‘Praveen & Swarna’s family grown’ Indian spices, creating stunning flavours and multi award-winning Authentic Indian Cuisine.
Praveen and Swarna were born and brought up in rural villages in Southern India where meals are cooked daily, using fresh ingredients grown in local fields.
Praveen moved to Scotland to work at Turnberry in 2005 and was then headhunted to work at Gleneagles in 2007. Swarna & Praveen married in 2008 and moved to Perth, Scotland, where combining their passion for good and simple food, they founded the bustling TABLA Indian Restaurant in Perth city centre in 2009. TABLA is the first Indian Restaurant in the UK to be awarded “Taste our Best” by Visit Scotland 2011. TABLA has also won and retained 1 AA Rosette since 2012. Other awards 2018:
On the back of the success and growing reputation of quality and service provided at TABLA, Chef Praveen opened the award winning Indian Cook School in 2016. As the business needs grew, they decided to grow their own produce, and now work with market gardener John in Couper Angus, Perthshire to grow “beyond organic” vegetables and herbs for TABLA, Indian Cook School, and Ready to Eat Authentic Indian.
Praveen and Swarna have now permanently settled in Perth, Scotland and have been blessed with two daughters, Tanvi and Tansi.
Chef Praveen now appears regularly on TV, radio and press. Most recently the Scottish Sunday Post titled him as “The Curry King”. He is in demand to provide personal appearances and lessons at events and shows right across the UK, and has also been called upon to judge several prestigious cooking competitions.
Praveen Kumar “Ready to Eat” meals provide you with your own celebrity chef, in your own home, straight from your freezer. ENJOY!
