I’ve just received word that I’ve been voted Scotland Asian Chef of the Year 2019 and that Tabla Indian Restaurant has been voted Asian Restaurant of the Year 2019 by the annual Scotland Asian Restaurant Awards. The process took all therestaurants who participated and then cut them down through a public voting process. The finalists were then reduced by an experienced board of food editors, food critics and top chefs. To win two awards is absolutely fantastic.

On the business front Tabla Indian Restaurant has just completed one of its busiest quarters ever. An amazing commitment from all of the staff (I really have to thank all the staff involved, it is a team effort and everyone has an important part to play). The Cook School is back up and running and is once again very busy, please check availability online for class bookings. The last place for this year has already been sold and new class dates will be released in November. Blog readers will get first shout out about forthcoming dates so keep tuned.

N.B. We have now made all newly purchased Indian Cook School Vouchers valid for 12 months from the date of issue. It is really important that anyone wishing to purchase vouchers for special occasions, especially Christmas that you makesales sooner rather than later (www.indiancookschool.co.uk).You can then book the class dates from November 2019 onwards.

Pakora Masterclass: Although the Cook School is busy, I have been asked on several occasions if I would just do a Pakora teaching class. Therefore; I’m asking for opinions from my own customers regarding this matter. Do you think I should do a 2 hour Pakora Masterclass (£60 / head)? How often? Views to david@praveenkumar.com (titled Masterclass Views). As a starter I have arranged to do 2 Pakora Masterclass options in Feb 2020.

Christmas Functions: If you’re booking your staff function at the restaurant please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Similarly if you’re booking your own Christmas or New Year meal please book as soon as possible. Following on from last month’s blog (Aug 19) we can say that The Bunker Golf Lounge and Bar is NOW OPEN and just in time for the Solheim Cup being held at Gleneagles Hotel (09 – 15 Sep 19). The bar is looking absolutely amazing and it’s going to be a massive hit in Perth City Centre.
